- base color paint (what tone the wall will be painted in);

It is advisable to purchase quick-drying paint so that the design does not float and looks as impressive as possible. In addition, this will allow you to finish the work faster and enjoy the new interior.
Geometry on the floor, walls and even the ceiling
You can create geometric accents using finishing. In addition to the fact that these design elements make the interior bright and creative, they also help to adjust the space. To introduce figures into a room, you can:
- draw - for this they use paint or liquid wallpaper of contrasting or similar colors with different saturations;
- stick - non-woven, paper, fabric wallpaper or ceramic tiles with a geometric pattern, mosaic are suitable.
You can decorate the walls and ceiling with geometric shapes using moldings. This technique is widely used in classic or Provence. For modern interiors, wallpaper with triangles, hexagons, parallelepipeds, and 3D panels with protruding pyramid tops are suitable. You don’t need to cover all the walls with active prints—it’s enough to decorate individual areas with them. In this way, you can emphasize a special area - an accent wall or the space above the sofa. You can delimit the room by dividing it into zones. Volumetric geometric figures made of plasterboard look impressive on a high ceiling. They slightly lower the surface and turn the room into a fantastic hall. Flat hanging objects are also appropriate, as well as highlighting individual areas with stretched canvases and mirrors. You can use a checkerboard tile layout on the floor. The most often chosen contrasting combinations are black with white or red, blue with yellow or white, red with green or blue. The geometric pattern on the tile will support furniture of a similar shape, lamps and accessories.
Stripes
A simple and elegant design that adds expressiveness to a room and helps correct its shortcomings. Wide stripes of contrasting shades look solemn and elegant. You can soften the effect of a ceremonial atmosphere by replacing clearly defined lines with a pattern with blurred edges. A thin stripe is not so conspicuous, and therefore harmoniously combines with other ornaments. By placing the stripes horizontally, you can make the wall visually wider and visually lower the ceilings. This technique helps to bring the shape of the room closer to a square. Vertical stripes will distract attention from uneven and curvature surfaces, and will also give the room additional space by raising the ceiling. You can apply the pattern to the wall with your own hands. Masking tape or electrical tape will be useful for this. This solution is especially relevant for a small hallway whose area needs to be increased.
Squares
Squares are not allowed to change the space, but they can make it more calm and balanced. The square is the main symbol of stability and order. It fills the inhabitants of the home with confidence in their own well-being. Square panels, frames, lamps, and a carpet on the floor will give a feeling of peace and make the interior complete. Zigzags
Zigzags are broken stripes. They have the same abilities as their related rectilinear ornament. But for curved strips they are many times higher. Zigzag is endowed with enhanced room correction capabilities. If smooth vertical stripes visually raise the ceilings by 15 cm, then their wavy “relatives” can “throw away” the line of junction of the wall and the ceiling by 40 cm! The effectiveness of horizontal options will be the same. Therefore, curved lines should be introduced into the interior very carefully and in doses. They would be appropriate in the form of several light stripes - horizontal or reaching towards the ceiling, or a carpet with contrasting elements.
Multi-colored images of zigzags will help get rid of the “caustic” pattern on the walls. The same advice can be given regarding the design of the floor and ceiling. Lines with unclear edges, made in similar shades, will help to neatly and elegantly expand or lengthen the room.
Circles and ovals
Harmony and completeness are what round and oval shapes bring to the interior. Their outlines soften the aggressiveness of angular details and create a relaxed, free atmosphere. A circle is the most positive figure, devoid of prickly corners and edges. Round pieces of furniture fit into any room. An oval or round tabletop can accommodate many more people than a rectangular or square one. In the interior, circles can be defined using accessories, furniture and decoration. Rounded furnishings - beds, sofas, chests of drawers will make the room soft and calm. Round or oval frames for photographs, pictures and mirrors, clocks, lampshades, a suspended ceiling and a carpet will support the main idea of the design. The main thing here is to maintain a sense of proportion. It costs nothing to oversaturate a room with round objects. It is better to combine them with square pieces of furniture and neutral backgrounds. For example, in a room where the walls are decorated with round frames, you should choose plain textiles, because a print with circles on curtains and pillows will be too much. It is better to install a rectangular coffee table on a round carpet. So, with the help of one figure you can compensate for the “sweetness” of others.
Rectangles
Rectangular figures look elegant and simple in the interior. They go well with square shapes and circles. For such compositions, you should choose calm color combinations. Excessive diversity can tire your eyesight and even cause dizziness. It is best to complement bright shades with neutral ones or use different versions of the same color. Contrasting combinations are acceptable in children's rooms or living rooms, which are designed in the bold trends of pop art style. In classic interiors, pastel patterns create a feeling of stability and balance. Large rectangular elements fill the room with calm and regularity. Small multi-colored ornaments, on the contrary, make the interior dynamic and set a certain rhythm. Most often we find rectangles and squares in floor coverings - tiles, laminate, porcelain tiles, parquet boards. They help create a strong foundation for the rest of the design components.
Honeycombs or octagons
Interior elements can be non-trivial and interesting. The use of octagons, hexagons, which are also called “honeycombs,” will help diversify the design, make it unusual and unique. This is a kind of reference to the octagonal Feng Shui, which teaches you to arrange your home in such a way as to create conditions for a happy and healthy life. Octagonal elements are often used to create oriental interiors. Here the entire space is built around an octagonal table or aquarium. Side tables, chairs, and bookcases of the same shape serve as additional touches. The space is united by stacked mirrors reminiscent of crystals. Octagons also appear in decoration - most often in the form of wall or floor tiles, wallpaper. Or you can simply draw the shapes using a stencil and paint them in adjacent or contrasting colors. This work will not take much time, but will help to effectively decorate the room. Collections of octagonal tiles include plain products and fragments with illustrations. Such materials are ideal for laying a kitchen apron.
