Annie Atkins
Nationality : British Years worked : 2000s - present Education : University College Dublin Studio : Annie Atkins & Co.
“Designers always want to fix something, but it is thanks to human mistakes that the world remains unique. Reality is more interesting than what we materialize. Imagination cannot compare to real, living design history. And in fact, when starting something new, we never start from scratch."
Most graphic designers create artistic and editorial content for websites, brands, exhibitions and publications, but Dublin-based designer Annie Atkins is more interested in combining graphics and film. She's already made a name for herself in Hollywood by creating incredibly realistic banknotes for The Grand Budapest Hotel, political banners for Isle of Dogs and fake passports for Spy Island.
Atkins has worked with Wes Anderson and Steven Spielberg, and her film-inspired designs include stunningly beautiful Victorian stamps, Tudor calligraphy and hand-drawn Japanese maps.
