Shape and size of the room: what to consider
Neoclassical style requires a certain amount of “air” in the setting. Therefore, it will be more difficult to decorate a very tiny space with its help. The shape of the room is not particularly important, but rooms of the correct shape are traditionally much easier to arrange.
Small kitchenette
Design hacks will help you decorate a small (or even very small) kitchen in a neoclassical style (pay attention to the photo below):
Design hacks | Descriptions |
Techniques for visually increasing space | Mirror surfaces, light halftones, decor with perspective. |
Compact solutions | Compact furniture and appliances |
Transformable furniture | For example, a transforming table into a neoclassical kitchen. |
Using “hidden reserves” | Over-the-door organizers, table top-window sill, storage up to the ceiling. |

Large room
For the neoclassical direction, a spacious kitchen area is more typical, often combining the functions of a dining room (a kitchen-dining room in neoclassical style is a common choice), and sometimes also a living room (the interior of a combined kitchen-living-dining room in neoclassical style is also a winning move).
When designing a space that has more than one functional part, it is important to remember zoning techniques. This could be, for example, zoning:
- light;
- color;
- finishing;
- different levels of floor and ceiling;
- physical partitions.
Neoclassical style kitchen: distinctive features
Look at these kitchens. You see, neoclassicism has many similarities with classical interiors.
Here are the same:
- pastel colors when decorating;
- moldings;
- carved elements as decoration;
- graceful curves;
- exquisite fittings.
But there is no more gilding, monumentality, pathos. There is no feeling of heaviness. In neoclassicism, design is perceived more easily, the interiors here are more dynamic, the furniture is simpler.
Expensive natural materials are used for finishing. But, again, without being strictly categorical. Natural stone here can already be replaced with artificial, wooden flooring with laminate.
Room dimensions: what to consider?
It is based on the area that you should choose the configuration of the set, the colors of the kitchen in the neoclassical style, lighting schemes and decorative techniques.
Kitchenette: 5-7 square meters
Miniature spaces are most often designed exclusively as a place for cooking. At the same time, moving the dining group (and sometimes storage) to other parts of the apartment. If this option is not suitable, turn to the most compact furniture and appliances. Also, when designing a neoclassical kitchen with an area of about 5 square meters (sq.m.) in the interior of the apartment, you can pay attention to:
- folding tables and chairs in neoclassical style for the kitchen;
- folding tabletops;
- window sill tables;
- stackable chairs and stools;
- transformable tables;
- mobile solutions (carts, kitchen islands on wheels).
Compact space: 8, 9, 10 square meters
The average sizes of typical neoclassical kitchenettes (8, 9, 10 sq.m.) allow you to place both a set and a full-fledged dining group. And when using compact solutions and design techniques, you can even find a place for a mini-recreation area or for a home mini-office.
Beautiful, stylish neoclassical kitchen with mirrors
Large rooms: up to 20 square meters
Most often, such an area allows you to combine the kitchen area, dining room and living room in one space. Sometimes in large combined kitchen-living room areas of 18-20 sq.m in neoclassical style, judging by the real photos in the apartments, they also include a fireplace area, a home library or a mini-office. Or allocate a place for a pantry.
Stylish neoclassical kitchen with beautiful turquoise chairs
Huge: more than 20 square meters
When decorating a room of impressive size (for example, thinking through the design of a kitchen over 20 meters in neoclassical style), it is important to remember the mandatory visual division into parts - and use zoning techniques. Otherwise, the situation will turn out to be disorganized and illogical.
Studio apartment
Since neoclassicism loves space, kitchens in this style are often decorated in studio apartments. The center of the kitchen area is a large table, above which hangs a luxurious chandelier.
The neoclassical style set is arranged based on the characteristics of the room. If the area is small, kitchen cabinets are placed along the walls. If you have room to roam, then it’s worth separating the work area from the dining area with a peninsula.
Headset configuration
Which set to choose for a kitchenette in neoclassical style? The answer to this question depends on the shape and size of the room, the presence and proximity of other functional parts, the location of communications, as well as your personal preferences. Stylistics does not impose strict restrictions, except that it gives preference to the most ergonomic and practical solutions. And also laconic or classic forms (facades and countertops of streamlined shapes will be much less appropriate).

Linear set
The linear arrangement of the set is one of the most common for neoclassical kitchens. Plus - compactness, minus - lack of a comfortable “working triangle”
ADVICE. The current trend is to design the set in such a way that it looks more like a storage system than kitchen furniture. Especially relevant for kitchen-living rooms, kitchen-bedrooms and kitchen-studios in neoclassical style.
Corner set
Corner kitchen sets are a little less popular; most often this configuration is due to the characteristics of the room (load-bearing structures protruding from the walls, inconvenient entrance location, etc.).
Often corner kitchenettes with a refrigerator are decorated in the English neoclassical style with a modern twist. This way they look more solid and aesthetically pleasing.
ADVICE. For a small corner set (including in the interior of a kitchen-living room) in a neoclassical design style, it is better to choose white, light colors (as in the photo below).
Beautiful, stylish black and white neoclassical kitchen
U-shaped kitchen set
A convenient option for those who want a spacious work surface and sufficient storage in relatively limited space.
Set with island
Arranging an island is a common technique in the design of classical and neoclassical kitchen spaces.
ADVICE. Depending on the area, an island with bar stools can either complement or replace the dining room.
Set with bar counter
A slightly less common option for the neoclassical movement, but also has the right to life. Especially if the kitchenette is very tiny, and there is definitely not enough space for a full-fledged dining group.
ADVICE. Stylish, fashionable, beautiful kitchenettes in neoclassical style (or neoclassical style) in 2021 can be found not only in elite design showrooms.
Photos of the interiors of real objects prove that today in Moscow you can buy furniture in this style inexpensively.
Style Features
The name of this design itself includes 2 concepts. “Neo” is new, modern, and “classicism” is a tradition proven over the years. A kitchen decorated in this style looks airy and laconic than a monumental classic. The interior and decoration invariably contain modern details.
Characteristic features are:
- symmetry of the setting, strict proportions;
- clear lines and geometric shapes;
- elegant but discreet decor;
- natural and expensive finishing materials;
- noble furniture;
- calm color palette;
- spacious bright space, high ceilings.
The optimal shape of the room is square or rectangular, not narrow. When decorating a kitchen, such architectural delights as stucco molding, antique arches, pilasters, and moldings are relevant.
There is no need to hide household appliances in cabinets. Neoclassicism favors the presence of modern functional devices in the interior. In general, the kitchen furnishings have a solemn appearance, while being practical.
Color palette
The neoclassical style involves the use of calm pastel shades, giving the room an “airiness”.
Most popular colors:
- beige-gray;
- Ivory;
- lactic;
- pale blue;
- light wood;
- powdery;
- peach;
- shades of white.
In kitchen details, a silver or golden tone is usually used - on furniture fittings, cornices, decorative items, textiles. Too bright, flashy colors do not fit into the neoclassical style.
Dark wood is often used to create accents - in decorative elements, on the facades of kitchen units, on the floor. As a companion for highlighting fragments, a rich but muted contrasting color can be chosen - turquoise, green, lavender, blue.
Varieties of direction: what to choose?
Neoclassical style, like any other, has its own varieties and branches. As well as successful mixes with other directions.

American neoclassical
American neoclassicism in the kitchen is modern classics generously seasoned with eclecticism. Often - in expressive colors, interspersed with retro elements. At the same time, the furnishings in this style are technological and practical.
French neoclassical style
Such interiors are successors of the French classics; they noticeably gravitate toward light tones and allow themselves a little more non-functional decor than other trends.
English neoclassical
It is based on the English classical direction: restraint, respectability, noble and rich colors. This style is characterized by ergonomics, a large amount of free space - and minimization of non-functional decor.
Modern neoclassical movement
Kitchenettes in the modern neoclassical style, judging by the photos of designer works, are most often decorated in neutral, restrained colors - and gravitate more toward contemporary than classic. The latter is usually recalled by furniture silhouettes and individual decorative and composition techniques.
Russian neoclassicism
In recent decades, styles with the adjective “Russian” have confidently made their way into the vocabulary of designers. In addition to Russian classics and the stylistics of the Russian village, the concept of Russian neoclassicism is also used. It leans a little more toward classical motifs than modern ones, and is noticeably less eclectic than American ones.
Neoclassical style + loft
The mix of industrial motifs and neoclassical trends is one of the most spectacular and in demand. It combines the sophistication of a modern classic style - and a certain brutality, the characteristic of a loft.
Grey colour
neoclassical kitchen design
Not so long ago, gray color in interior design was not liked by customers. We have often heard from customers that they associate it with depression or a sad state, and they do not believe that a gray room can be cozy.
But time has passed, and today it is gray kitchens that are in demand. The fact is that such shades are in demand in modern styles, since with their help it is possible to make the interior more noble and strict. For example, a yellow kitchen without gray will resemble a kindergarten. If you dilute the interior with gray shades, yellow will instantly become an olive color.
There are gray kitchens here!
How to choose interior color for the kitchen
Neoclassical style is quite loyal to a wide variety of tones: from dark, saturated to light, airy; from juicy to light, pastel. The main condition is relative restraint, unobtrusiveness of the range.
ADVICE. Sharp contrasts and bold, non-standard combinations are definitely not about the neoclassical direction.

Bright hues
Light colors are most organic for neoclassical-style kitchens. They add lightness to the interior, make it brighter, and contribute to the formation of a neutral palette - the most characteristic of this direction.

White interior
A snow-white kitchen (especially white glossy facades and apron) is less common in neoclassicism than in Scandinavian or minimalist spaces. Complex shades are more typical for this style. However, for example, when surrounded by other light tones, such a decision may be completely justified.
ADVICE. A white neoclassical kitchen with a wooden, black or gray countertop, as well as furniture in a white and blue style, looks especially impressive in the interior photo. However, you can buy accompanying elements of absolutely any color to pair with a white set.

Gray tones
Flat gray color for neoclassical kitchens has long gone out of fashion, but its complex shades, on the contrary, are at the peak of popularity. Graphite, the color of wet asphalt, gray-blue - all these tones are among the trends.
ADVICE. The interior of a neoclassical kitchen in gray colors (look at the photo below) looks more interesting if you combine several halftones at once.

Blue halftones
The blue range is calm, natural, light. It's no surprise that it's perfect for a modern classic. Blue kitchenettes in neoclassical style look fresh and elegant. The most popular colors are pastel blue, green-blue, gray-blue, and a light shade of turquoise.
blue tint
Blue halftones are especially often used in Russian and English neoclassicism. Among the most fashionable for kitchen spaces are blue-black, ultramarine, cornflower blue, and indigo. Bonus: blue has a calming mood. And the blue kitchen in the neoclassical style is almost impossible to get boring.
Kitchenette in pastel colors
Neoclassical kitchenettes in pastel colors are no longer as popular as in previous seasons, but they are unlikely to ever go completely out of fashion. Softness, high compatibility and versatility (in terms of space and room lighting) are their absolute advantages.

Beige
The most relevant light shades for the interior of a neoclassical kitchen (judging by the photo) are complex beiges: for example, linen, caramel, milk, old lace.

Cappuccino
Separately, it is worth mentioning the delicate gray-beige-caramel tone, which has become especially popular in recent seasons. The bonuses of a cappuccino kitchen for neoclassics are neutrality, versatility, depth, sophistication.
ADVICE. An excellent option for those who like beige undertones, but are afraid of making the decor too boring. The cappuccino color is a reasonable and attractive compromise.
Green
Shades of green for neoclassical kitchens are among the most popular. They meet several trends at once: they belong to the natural palette, are almost impossible to get bored of, go well with both warm and cold tones, and have many fashionable variations (from Tiffany to emerald).
Brown
Variants of brown neoclassical kitchens - be it natural shades of wood, or complex undertones (taupe, coffee) - are again in fashion.
ADVICE. Designers try to ignore only the familiar wenge, but with the right palette it can also come in handy.
Mint undertone
The mint shade - blue with an emerald undertone - deserves special attention. It is especially fashionable, fresh, unconventional, and quite practical. And mint fits perfectly into kitchens decorated in neoclassical style.
Powdery tone
Muted, dusty, powdery undertones are also great for neoclassicism (a powdery kitchen-living room looks especially advantageous). Bonus: they visually make the space warmer, lighter and more comfortable, creating an atmosphere of sophistication.

Two-color headsets
This is not the first year that designers have resorted to two-color headset design, most often focusing on the “white top + dark bottom” scheme. This move allows you to introduce colored accents or dark contrasts into the interior without overloading the decor. In neoclassical design, a two-color kitchen looks very organic.
Black set
Black kitchen sets, and even monochrome black interiors, are a trend in recent seasons. Designers and ordinary people, tired of the same type of snow-white kitchens, are trying something new. Bonus: dark kitchenettes look elegant, non-trivial, and deep shades can visually expand the space no worse than light shades. Therefore, black neoclassical kitchen is in fashion.

Kitchen interior in neoclassical style
Modern classic kitchens in the current sense are similar to American interiors, but in our country they are highly adapted.
Furniture and accessories
Abstracts:
- Matte facades with milling are the basis of the neoclassical style in the kitchen. If you remove the milling, the interior will become simply modern. Gloss is difficult to incorporate - it’s better not to risk it.
- Current built-in appliances without vintage imitations. More choice, lower price, natural look - there’s no point in pretending to be classic.
- Upper cabinets up to the ceiling. Making a kitchen to the ceiling is already standard for 2021. In neoclassicism, this can be implemented with additional sections based on the mezzanine principle, transparent doors like in a buffet (I don’t recommend it), or by lowering the ceiling in the closet area as standard. At the same time, it will hide the outlet of the hood into the ventilation duct.
- All headset shapes are suitable for neoclassical style: corner, U-shaped, straight - it doesn’t matter. But you shouldn’t make a corner sink - it looks like it’s from the 90s.
- Light colors, built-in and solidity of all furniture - we get rid of dark corners. This is an alternative way to achieve coziness through a feeling of cleanliness, instead of a bunch of “cute” accessories.
- Tabletop made of natural or artificial stone (expensive). If you want to save money without losing results, then wood-look chipboard. And read about a Scandinavian-style kitchen and a white one with a wooden countertop (yes, a separate article because this is the optimal combination).
- Handles for furniture and doors, faucets, lamps, chairs and tables - everything can be done both in a modern style and in a light classic one. They cost the same. This doubles your scope for choice - such is the feature of kitchens in the neoclassical style.
- Single color modern curtains. Without lambrequins and other things. Roman blinds are possible. Details about choosing curtains for the kitchen and separately if it has a balcony door.
I strongly advise you to read my materials:
- How to choose and complete a kitchen - which fittings are worth overpaying for and which ones to buy the cheapest, how to choose kitchen technicians, etc.
- The design of a small kitchen is relevant for everyone because... There are all the ideas for maximizing practicality.
If you like brighter and less austere interiors, look at the material with a bunch of photos about kitchens in the Provence style - they have a lot in common.
Finishing
Neoclassical kitchen apron
Good:
- White boar (white bricks)
- Marble tiles
- Made from countertop material (budget option if chipboard, expensive if stone)
- Glass plain (no photos behind it)
- Large stone tiles
I do not advise:
- Small square tiles and mosaics. From the point of view The design looks good, but there are a lot of seams. And the grout is not stable enough for an apron. The less it is, the better.
- Patterns and patchwork. After all, neoclassicism is a strict, respectable style, and a bright apron attracts a lot of attention.
Separate material about a kitchen apron with more than 100 photos.
Floor
Tiles of any direction are suitable for the kitchen floor in the neoclassical style, provided they have a natural color scheme and a light shade. Those. You can't have bright or dark. It is possible with an unobtrusive pattern, offset to match the decor (although I do not recommend both options).
Beveled laminate in light, unsaturated colors without tint (neutral, not warm or cool). It is important. A dark laminate or one that goes red, yellow or brown will not fit into the warranty. If you want a wood-like floor and countertop, then choose either in contrast (white or gray floor) or very similar ones. The middle options are bad.
Plinth in the color of the interior doors.
Read about choosing flooring for the kitchen - there is also information about joints and transitions.
Walls
In real photographs of interiors, everyone likes apartments with white painted walls, but when it comes down to it, for some reason they are afraid and think that it will be boring or “like in a hospital.” Don’t be afraid and it won’t be - this is a standard option in a neoclassical kitchen. This is not an accent, and people don’t notice it when they look at photos - but you should notice it.
Decorative plaster and stone as accents (but not on all walls!). Try to highlight them.
Wallpaper to be painted in light colors, or accent monochrome for 1 wall. About wallpaper for the kitchen.
Photo wallpapers and frescoes are a very risky option, but sometimes it works out.
Ceiling
I am a supporter of single-level matte white ceilings when it comes to an ordinary apartment. If the kitchen is combined with the living room, you can get smarter.
The standard is a step above the upper cabinets so that there is no gap between them and the ceiling. For neoclassicism in the kitchen, ceiling plinths are also used. If there is a lot of money, you can do the 2nd level and stucco (without fanaticism). Although if the budget is not unlimited, there are ways to spend money on renovations more rationally.
Lighting
Light in the kitchen space is a particularly important topic. Lighting must be varied and sufficient.
Chandeliers
A single ceiling chandelier in the kitchen (or in the interior of the kitchen-living room) in the neoclassical style is definitely not enough; design projects and real photos of apartments clearly demonstrate this. But as general light or as lighting for a dining area, it is more than appropriate.
Beautiful, stylish neoclassical kitchen with Art Deco touches
Lamps above the tabletop
One of the most important points is the lighting of the work surface. For this they can be used, for example:
- ceiling soffits;
- lamps built into the set or mounted above the set;
- LED strips;
- Wall lights.
Another light
It would also be useful to provide lighting inside the cabinets. Hangings are often used above the bar counter or kitchen island. If the room has a living room or mini-office area, separate lighting may be required in these functional parts. Sometimes decorative light is also used (garlands, illumination of paintings and posters for kitchens in the neoclassical style).

Curtains and decor
Fabric curtains are an indispensable element of the kitchen space. To decorate a window opening, plain curtains made of semi-gloss silk are often chosen. Neoclassical style curtains harmonize in color with the overall interior design. The canvases have a simple design without elaborate decor, lambrequins and flashy ornaments.
The photo shows a window decorated with Roman blinds made of translucent fabric.
The furnishings are decorated with practical, high-quality and at the same time luxurious accessories. The table can be decorated with a linen tablecloth, and open shelves can be complemented with painted dishes, colored glass decanters and sophisticated glasses.
In the neoclassical style dining area, paintings with still lifes, porcelain figurines or vases with fresh flowers will look great.
Neoclassical decor
Stylistics does not like excessive decoration, especially when it comes to non-functional decor. And in the kitchen space it is better to give preference to practical elements of the decor.
Beautiful, stylish, brightly presented neoclassical kitchen
Textiles: curtains, tablecloths, towels
Kitchen textiles are largely responsible for comfort. Napkins, tablecloths, towels, curtains, carpets and runners (most often in the dining room or living room) - neoclassicism does not require an abundance of textiles, but does not limit its use.
ADVICE. It is not necessary to strictly adhere to textiles in a neoclassical style. Italian, Scandinavian, modern curtains may be suitable for a neoclassical kitchen (judging by the photo below).

Wallpaper
Wallpaper for a kitchen in the neoclassical style (judging by the photos of designer interiors) has long ceased to be just a decoration - and has become a decoration. You can use them to decorate an accent surface, a niche, or the inner walls of a shelving unit or display cabinet. You can even use it to decorate a kitchen apron - in combination with glass.
Paintings, posters and more
Wall decor in the kitchen space is also used: both for purely decorative purposes and to visually designate the dining room or living room area. You can use, for example:
- posters;
- paintings;
- tin decorative signs;
- decorative plates;
- wall planters.
Kitchenware
Serving utensils, knife sets, small household appliances, cutting boards and kitchen utensils - all these practical elements have long acquired an additional decorative function. Choose them to match the colors and style of the interior - and they will not only bring benefits, but also decorate the space.

Colors
The most important tool in creating an interior is the tint solution.
Kitchen in light colors in neoclassical style
In the design of the kitchen space, neutral, muted colors from natural and natural colors are used. Light shades are perfect for the main background: snow-white, sand, powdery, lilac, beige or peach.
The use of gray, green, olive, blue and yellow colors is allowed.
The photo shows a kitchen where neoclassicism has been recreated with the help of exquisite furniture and noble color combinations.
The kitchen space in the neoclassical style, designed in ivory shades, has a very impressive and elegant look. Such neutral but expensive tones can transform a room and highlight elegant pieces of furniture. Milky color looks especially advantageous in combination with pearlescent.
The photo shows a kitchen design in a neoclassical style, designed in coffee and beige tones.
Kitchens in dark colors
Chocolate, blue, burgundy, black and other shades from a rich, but not flashy, range are chosen as accents or companion shades. Dark colors in the kitchen are perfect for highlighting parts of the walls, apron area or furniture fronts.
The photo shows a kitchen in brown tones with black furniture and white chairs.
A dark and colorful palette allows you to emphasize the geometry of the room and make the atmosphere orderly. For example, the neoclassical interior of a white kitchen with black elements looks strict and at the same time expressive.
Furniture for a neoclassical kitchen area
The main stylistic requirements for furniture are classic or laconic silhouettes and unobtrusive, fairly restrained colors. It is also advisable to rely on natural materials (or their skillful imitations).
Tables and chairs
A dining group is a traditional way of decorating a dining room for this trend. But other options are also allowed:
- Kitchen island.
- Bar counter.
- Tabletop-window sill.
Typically, neoclassical interiors are furnished with furniture of either classic or laconic, neutral silhouettes.
Sofa in the kitchen space
The style allows for the placement of a sofa - and even welcomes the combination of the kitchen area with the living room. So a neoclassical kitchen (from 10 sq.m.) with a sofa is a good move.
Neoclassicism in a small kitchen
Neoclassicism is demanding on the area of the room. Optimal values are at least 9-10 m². For a small room, minimalism or Scandinavian style is more suitable.
Often the kitchen is combined with a dining room or living room to increase space and create a neoclassical design. In this case, the room is zoned using light, wall decoration, flooring, and ceiling into an area for cooking, eating, and family recreation.
If the kitchen area is relatively small, but meets the minimum requirements, its design aims to visually increase the space.
This can be achieved without deviating from the neoclassical concept using the following recommendations:
- leave the ceiling level;
- move the dining group from the center to one of the walls;
- use folding wooden chairs with soft, removable cushions;
- for a stretch ceiling, choose glossy light materials;
- install compact household appliances (two-burner hob, narrow dishwasher, etc.);
- limit the number of small decorative items;
- in decoration and furnishings, give preference to light shades;
- combine the work area with the dining area (make a universal island in the center instead of a table);
- use the window sill as a work surface;
- use mirrors and glossy materials in the decoration of walls and aprons.
Window decoration
Windows in a modern interior are an important element responsible for the distribution of natural light. Neoclassical kitchen models from floor to ceiling visually expand the space and make the room huge. Options with multiple doors and cross-shaped decorative beams bring a sense of quality to the room.
Decor
Exquisite jewelry is an integral part of the neoclassical style. But you can’t overdo it here either. When creating a design in an antique direction, you need to pay attention to techniques, the idea of which is inspired by nature itself. You shouldn’t forget about symmetry either.
The interior will be enriched by niches in the walls that house elegant vases with flowers. Having exquisite expensive utensils in the kitchen will perfectly support the concept.
Neoclassicism is an original style that is quite popular these days. By following all the rules and correctly organizing the arrangement of interior elements, you can create a unique, at the same time light and luxurious atmosphere. And then you will want to return home even more.
Accessories and decor: what is inherent in neoclassicism
Designers often say that one of the most difficult tasks in interior design is the proper decoration of space so that the furnishings are individual, elegant and “lively”.
In neoclassical style, the kitchen, like the adjacent living room, is traditionally decorated with photographs, statues, columns, arched ceilings, ceiling ornaments, vases, chandeliers, candlesticks and textiles. But a lot of decorative details will be too much for this laconic, albeit classic style.
Therefore, it is recommended to choose a clear strategy for decoration:
- Family photographs are used in small quantities.
- Large or stylized photos can become a background for placing wall sconces, a work area apron, or an accent wall.
- You cannot use different techniques when decorating doors, carpets, furniture: all this must be identical in finishing methods, shape and style of patterns.
When using a dining group as a decoration for the kitchen, you should choose comfortable furniture: the seats of the chairs should be soft. At the same time, upholstery is also a design element. Therefore, the textiles chosen are the same for furniture in the working and dining areas, as well as for the living room.
Finishing features
To decorate a kitchen in the neoclassical style, both natural and artificial materials can be used. The main requirements that are put forward to them are practicality, aesthetics and, if possible, natural colors.
The following can be used as floor covering:
- wood (including parquet, laminate, decking);
- natural or artificial stone;
- ceramic tiles, plain or with a discreet pattern.
It is advisable that the floor material be in harmony with the surface of the countertops. It is recommended to make both surfaces either stone or wood, but not to use both options at the same time.
Walls are traditionally decorated using:
- white paint;
- wallpaper in neutral shades;
- light plaster.
Options with an accent wall in a richer shade or with photo wallpaper are also popular. This design requires some courage, but can be very successful.
The following may be suitable for finishing a kitchen apron:
- light plain tiles;
- imitation stone or marble;
- plain tempered glass without pattern.
The ceiling in the neoclassical style is usually made white. It can be single-level or multi-level, tensioned or covered with whitewash or plaster.
