Is gray laminate color the most practical? Master's review
Let's try to reveal the gray color of the laminate - oak, for example, and figure out how practical it is? For quite some time, shades of gray have been very popular. It is clear that there are a lot of different tones of gray, in English “Grey”, presented in construction markets. And designers love to describe it in their decisions. A win-win option - a lot of gray. It's stylish, fashionable, youthful.
- Gray color in the interior. The door falls out...
- Blue-gray laminate
- Gray laminate combo
- Gray laminate, light wallpaper. The baseboard is beige, but hardly falls out
They print not only “classic” gray. In stores you can find gray and with brown streaks, a kind of mixed warm and cold. And with blue ones - it looks just as interesting, you can beat up any living space in the apartment.
Gray laminate is very practical - in most cases, the joints on a laminate without a chamfer are not visible. On panels with a chamfered edge, the edge is often painted a darker shade. So that during use the paint will not be washed off so noticeably.
Gray color is cold. Typically, the color scheme of furnishings is also selected in cool or neutral tones. But there are also exceptions.
My opinion, if you are interested, is to combine the print in pairs or squares. For example: doors, laminate and baseboard are gray, walls are white. Of course, with some shades, but noticeably lighter. You can arrange it the other way around.
The main task is not to sculpt in one color. Otherwise, your eyes will get bored looking at everything that is monochromatic and of the same type.
There is a significant selection in stores when it comes to gray laminate. There are cheap options for renting out an apartment or for budget preparation of housing for sale. Laminate from Leroy Merlin with a gray pattern 6 mm 31 class Hudson oak. At the time of publication, the quality was good and the price was 248 rubles.
Fashionable laminate colors in 2021
When viewing and evaluating fashionable laminate flooring for 2021, it is important to pay attention not only to patterns and designs, but also to color. This year, natural shades remain fashionable, as well as a play on contrast (black and white, beige and black, bright shades of red). When choosing the color of a fashionable laminate, you should be guided by the following tips:
- giving preference to light colors as decoration for interior surfaces, do not forget that they will make the room narrower and longer;
- the combination of a light floor and dark walls allows you to visually shorten the room;
- You can highlight the horizontal lines in the room by laying light laminate flooring, finishing the ceiling in a light tone, while the walls should be dark;
- When renovating hallways, experts recommend choosing doors and flooring in the same color scheme;
- If you want to achieve the effect of a spacious room, then give preference to floors and doors in light colors.
Now let’s take a closer look at the fashionable colors of laminate flooring in 2021:
- White – laconic style and purity. Laminate in a light tone with an oak or maple structure allows you to visually expand the space, adding brightness to it. White floors go well with green tones that may be present in the decoration of the premises.
- Gray is a universal color, suitable for rooms where it is necessary to emphasize a neutral shade, but it is important to choose the right combination with other types of finishes. The best option for a combination is white and black surfaces. If you need to add coolness to the style of the room, then gray goes well with blue. An attractive effect will be achieved by combining gray and yellow, but there should be less of the latter in the interior (a separate decoration for curtains, a small element of decoration on a sofa or wall).
- Beige. The neutral color of the laminate can be easily combined with other tones, and it should also be noted that it is practical, since scratches, stains, and dust are not visible on it.
- Combination of red and orange. As finishing and decorative elements, you can select products and materials in yellow, brown and green colors.
- Brown is a warm shade that allows you to create a natural, cozy atmosphere. The brown color of the laminate is suitable for country-style interiors, and also highlights furniture and textured finishes.
- Black is a combination of elegance and luxury. Preference is given to this color when designing modern interiors, and it should be combined with warm tones.
Dimensions, characteristics
The shape of the laminate is a rectangle, but the aspect ratio, length and width can be very different. The dimensions of the laminate flooring are selected depending on preferences. Most often they look at the so-called “classic or standard” sizes: length - 1260-1380 mm, width 185-195 mm. There is neither a long laminate nor a short one. Long - up to 1985 mm, short - from 396 mm. Long planks are more difficult to install. Beginners should not take them on.
Laminate flooring sizes: table
The width of laminate also varies. The minimum width is 90 mm, the maximum is 440 mm. Wide laminate often has a shape closer to a square, and it often imitates brickwork. They also sometimes decorate walls.
Laminate sizes vary from manufacturer to manufacturer.
There is also such a parameter as the thickness of the laminate. This refers to the thickness of the entire “pie”. The thinnest laminate is 6 mm, standard collections are available up to 10-12 mm, but you can find up to 16 mm and more. What thickness should I choose laminate for my home or apartment? Optimal - 7-8 mm. The seven is more flexible and suitable for not very well leveled bases. The “eight” has great rigidity, so you need an almost ideal surface for it. It rarely makes sense to take thicker collections for the home.
How to care
In order for the floor to look the same after several years as it did on the first day after installation, it needs to be properly cared for. We hope everyone already knows about rugs in the hallway and felt pads on furniture legs. It is advisable for owners of mobile chairs to replace hard casters with soft rubber ones.
Regular dirt from the surface is removed with a slightly damp cloth. Make sure that the fabric is damp, not wet.
HG Laminate power cleaner (HG) (1 l pack - 284 RUR)
Pufas Glutoclean (Pufas) (pack of 1 l - 475 rub.)
Loba Laminatclean (Loba) (1 l pack - 478 RUR)
Specialized cleaning products are usually added to a bucket of clean water in the amount indicated on the package. Then wipe the floor with a cloth soaked in this solution and well wrung out. To remove stubborn stains, use a small amount of undiluted cleaner or leave it on heavily soiled areas for a few minutes.
After finishing cleaning, it is important to check whether there are any traces or stains left, since poorly removed cleaners attract dirt. Cleaning compositions based on oils and waxes have the same effect.
They cannot penetrate deep into the coating and form a film on the surface. They do not need to be used for cleaning.
Wineo It is important to remember that the joints of the substrate, which protects the coating from rising moisture, are taped.

Does laminate size matter?
Panels vary in size. Canvases with a width of 90 mm are considered narrow. A floor paved with this material resembles stacked parquet. The laminated board, 330 mm wide, is an imitation of ceramic tiles. The common transverse size of the canvas is 185-195 mm. A floor laid with this material resembles a high-quality wood flooring, because the pattern on it looks natural. The length of the boards is also not standardized. The longitudinal size of the canvas can reach 1845 mm. The most popular is considered to be a board 1260-1380 mm long.
How to choose the right laminate for an apartment? To do this, when planning renovations, you need to take into account the size of the living space. To cover the floor of a wide and long room, panels of the appropriate size are used, which simplifies and speeds up the installation of the covering. When laying material in a small room, there is a high probability that you will need small boards.
"Old" floor
Modern interior design often avoids excessive glamor and neatness. The trend is “real” finishing, using textured materials, for example, imitating concrete. “Old” wood is also relevant. Laminate manufacturers produce boards with imitation cracks and abrasions.

How laminate works
Laminated parquet is a multi-layer decorative finishing coating obtained by pressing under high pressure. Consists of (from top to bottom):
Laminate structure.
1. Overlay
This is a transparent layer of high-strength polymer resins (melamine, acrylic, etc.). The quality, thickness, hardness and impact resistance of the film determine such parameters of the laminate as hygiene, resistance to moisture, abrasion and impact loads, as well as the service life of the flooring material. Depending on the design of the collection, the overlay can be:
- smooth (satin matte, semi-gloss, mirror-glossy);
- structural (embossing imitating the texture of natural wood processed by brushing, etc.).
2. Decorative layer
It is a special paper with a pattern applied to it using high-precision printing. Decors can be very diverse: imitation parquet, solid boards, palace solids, ceramic tiles, natural stone, fabric and much more.
European premium laminate manufacturers add another layer to this layer - kraft paper, which is pressed with a decorative layer and overlay. This technology significantly increases the strength characteristics of the finished lamellas. The technique is called HPL (High Pressure Laminate).
HPL laminate structure.
3. Carrier board
This is the basis of any laminated parquet. Standard thickness is from 6 to 14 mm. It consists of the plate itself and a tongue-and-groove locking set of the “Click” or “Lock” type. Thanks to this, the laminate quickly and easily assembles into a single, monolithic, even sheet without differences or cracks.
Such characteristics as the level of resistance to compression, bending, and tension loads depend on the density and cross-section of this layer. Simply put, this means what weight is acceptable for the coating, how long the laminate can withstand intense foot traffic, etc.
Available in two types of fiberboard:
- HDF (High Density Fiberboard - high-density fiberboards). Density varies from 750 to 1200 kg/m3. Differences from analogues are increased strength and weight. This means that flooring made on the basis of HDF “works” perfectly in particularly difficult conditions (shopping centers, corridors, classrooms, offices, etc.);
HDF is high density fibreboard.
- MDF (Medium Density Fiberboard - medium density fiberboard). Density range – from 400 to 750 kg/m3. This type of fiberboard is often used by Chinese or Russian non-brand manufacturers. They produce lighter laminated boards that will be used at home. Often they try to compensate for the insufficient level of strength by increasing the thickness of the lamellas.
4. Base or stabilization layer
It is formed from paper impregnated with synthetic thermosetting resins. Designed to protect the lower part from moisture and prevent deformation of the slats. In addition to the tread, it also has an informational function, since the base layer often indicates the production date and batch number, as well as the brand name and registered trademark.
According to the European standard DIN EN 13329, the laminate has a three-layer structure:
- Decorative paper and overlay compressed into a single component;
- Bearing strip;
- Base layer.
For the average person, this information is insignificant. However, professionals understand that this is a laminate of the DPL series (Direct Pressure Laminate - direct pressure laminated coating). The difference from HPL is that the top and bottom layers are immediately, directly pressed onto the supporting base. Most factories use this technology, including Chinese, Russian and inexpensive European brands.
For those wishing to install parquet in rooms with high levels of humidity (bathrooms, dining rooms, laundries, etc.), waterproof PVC laminate is available. The difference with the traditional one is that a slab of composite super-hard plastic acts as a supporting board. The cost of such a coating is high, but it can replace porcelain stoneware or floor ceramics and decorate the entire area of a house or cafe in the same style.

Coating Manufacturers
You can choose laminate from well-known European manufacturers, as well as from Russian or Chinese. It all depends on the budget allocated for floor repairs and the purpose of the room in which it is being done.
European brands
The most popular brands are:
- Balterio - production is located only in Belgium. Technologies are used in which laminate cannot be distinguished from natural wood. It is considered one of the highest quality, maximum moisture-resistant not only the laminate itself, but also all its accessories. Other properties - wear-resistant, shape-resistant, impact-resistant (if something falls on it, it will not be deformed, and sharp heels will not leave marks), does not ignite, does not leave stains. Belongs to a high price group.
- A more budget option is Egger, Austria. It has good quality and a very wide selection of colors and textures; in addition, this laminate is durable, strong and moisture resistant.
- One of the oldest and most famous brands on the market is Kaindl, Austria. The coating produced by it is highly environmentally friendly: it has a minimum formaldehyde content, 15-20% less than the norm, which is marked by the Blue angel product certificate. Each board consists of 95% alpine spruce wood. The price is quite reasonable due to the large sales volume. The laminate is durable, resistant to mechanical loads, aggressive environments and ultraviolet radiation, with hydrophobic impregnation and fire resistance. Class 32 has a service life of 30 years.
- Another highly environmentally friendly option is Haro, Germany. It is highly durable, resistant to stains and scratches, water-repellent and very expensive.
- A relatively new direction in the production of coatings is the production of highly artistic laminates. The German company Versal specializes in the production of only this type of coating of class 33. It is produced in the form of slabs, which makes it possible to imitate parquet flooring flawlessly. Wear-resistant, has hydrophobic impregnation.
Other famous European brands:
- Quick Step.
- Maxwood.
- Kronospan.
- Tarkett.
- Kronotex.
- Grunde.
Chinese and Russian brands
High-quality laminate is characterized by the absence of a specific odor, excess wax at joints, smooth edges and cuts:
- Millennium is a Russian company that produces products in Chinese factories. The Strong collection is characterized by high wear resistance and great thickness.
- Platinum - produced at the Kostroma enterprise, belongs to the economy class, it is better not to use it in rooms with a large load on the floor.
- Proteco is a coating from a Chinese-German manufacturer of high quality and at an affordable price. It has increased rigidity and water resistance due to the high-density load-bearing layer, is antistatic, and withstands exposure to sunlight and point loads well.
- High-quality and inexpensive coatings are produced by the Russian company Lamineli and the Russian-Turkish Kastsmonu.
- Chinese brands such as Bode and Premium are well known.
What class of laminate to choose for a house or apartment
Based on abrasion resistance, laminate is divided into classes. This largely depends on the thickness of the protective polymer layer. They can be divided into two groups - for houses and apartments and for offices. The laminate class is indicated by two numbers. If the first “2” is for home, if the first “3” is for the office. The second number indicates the abrasion limit within each class. The higher the number, the stronger the protective layer, which can withstand greater loads.
Which laminate is better to choose for an apartment. Manufacturer's arguments
In addition to numbers, the class of the laminate is displayed by pictograms on which a private house or office building is drawn. Everything is clear here without explanation. And resistance to stress is indicated by human figures. One figure is low durability, two are medium, three are high.
Selecting a laminate class by room
Home laminate flooring has a relatively low price, but it will quickly deteriorate. The shortest service life of class 21 is only 1-2 years
Please note, this is the official deadline stated by manufacturers (not sellers). If you need a floor for a really long time, consider not those categories that are for the home, but those for the office
There are no traces left on them or furniture, and their service life at home is longer.
Categories of laminate and their service life for home and apartment
So, let's look at how to choose laminate flooring for an apartment based on quality and class. If you need the floor to last at least 10 years, we take office grade. And the degree of resistance to loads depends on the type of room.
- There is always sand, dirt, and moisture in the hallway. Therefore, it is best to take class 33, moisture resistant. This type is also suitable for the kitchen.
- You can already put 32 in the corridor.
- In residential premises - 31.
In general, in the hallway, corridor and kitchen, porcelain stoneware or tiles are more practical. But if they categorically “do not suit” you, you should choose a laminate for the kitchen only with high resistance to fats, alkalis, acids, and effective water-repellent impregnation. Leading manufacturers have lines that are designed specifically for the kitchen. For example, the Kitchen collection from Pergo has a class of 33. How to choose laminate for an apartment based on quality for the kitchen? It is better to choose waterproof one.
Waterproof PVC laminate
This type of laminated flooring appeared not so long ago. It is distinguished by the fact that its base is not an MDF (HDF) board, but a plastic board with cavities. A decorative and protective layer is applied to it. It is positioned as class 43, it can stay in the water for days and not change either its properties or appearance.
How to choose a laminate for an apartment based on quality if you need high moisture resistance. Waterproof PVC laminate with wear class 43
Waterproof laminate can be used both in wet rooms, such as a bathroom or kitchen, and outdoors. The disadvantages are the high price and complete “unnaturalness” of the coating. Although traditional laminate is also not natural, it is based on cellulose, and this is a natural product. It’s just that it’s covered on all sides with films, which negates this small part of the “naturalness.”
They produce moisture-resistant laminate on Zigart, Aquafloor, Kronoflooring, Holzplast, DecorStep plastic. The cost per square meter is about $30. It is hardly worth using it in residential premises, but in the corridor, hallway or kitchen it may be interesting.
Which laminate is better to choose: comparative analysis
When choosing a laminate flooring, it is important to consider the type of room, budget, manufacturer’s warranty, performance of the slab, coating, and locking system.
Our recommendations as flooring experts are as follows:
1. If laminate is needed in a living space
, be sure to consider whether it is safe.
Most laminated coatings contain formaldehyde, which is harmful to the body when present in high levels in the air. Released when materials are overheated. Negatively affects the respiratory system and skin.
From the point of view of harmlessness to humans, the best laminate is the one with minimal formaldehyde emissions. Markings E0 (no emissions) and E1 - minimal emissions. There is also an environmental European certification, according to which the A+ marking means minimal emissions of toxic substances.
Determining whether laminate flooring is truly safe can be difficult. Products entering Russia are not subject to mandatory certification.
Alloc laminate is produced only in Norway and therefore complies with the E1 emissions certificate. This is the only company on the Russian market that participated in the “Safe Home” competition and passed a real test, and not on paper.
Also, from a safety point of view, we can recommend laminated floors Pergo, CBM.
However, the laminate of these brands is expensive; for the same price you can buy a parquet board - a natural material.
2
Which laminate is better to choose for a commercial space with intense loads? It is important to choose a laminate of class 33-34 with reliable locks, a dense board and a durable protective layer. For example, Berry Alloc.
3. In commercial and public
In premises, the fire hazard class is also important. Class KM2 for Kronotex, Alloc floors.
4. In the kitchen, hallway, and dining room, liquids and moisture may get in, so you can choose a laminate with water-resistant properties
, for example, Klassen, Kastamonu.
5. If the budget is limited
, but you want to buy a good quality laminate, then Kastamonu would be the best option.

Fashionable laminate flooring 2021 in the interior
With the advent of the new year, fashion trends in the interior change. Among the current styles in 2021, designers note:
- Maximalism. The flooring used is a laminate of standard geometry with rich colors - bright shades of red, deep brown. When placing a color accent on the floor, it is important that it is bright and richly decorated.
- Eco - the use of natural materials, while open space should prevail in the interior. When choosing laminate flooring for installation, you should give preference to collections that maximally imitate solid or parquet boards, both in color and pattern.
- Vintage. Laminate in the form of aged or bleached boards in light shades - white, beige - is suitable for this style. At the same time, the room should contain neutral and nude shades, emphasizing the laconicism of small details.
- Japandi. For interiors in this style, it is recommended to select laminated floors with the structure of natural materials and appropriate colors. Shades should be as close to natural as possible to create a relaxing space.
- Industrial, loft, urban. The style is dominated by concrete textures, untreated brick, and plaster. Such finishing elements are combined with laminate in gray, white or beige.
When choosing a fashionable laminate for your living space in 2021, you should pay attention to fashion trends proposed by manufacturers. The correct selection of colors and finishes, a combination of small details allows you to create the desired style and comfortable area, according to your own preferences.
Types of laminates by purpose
Today there are 2 main categories for laminate:
- Domestic.
- Commercial.
Sometimes industrial laminate is also distinguished, but today this is more related to the development area and class 34, which cannot be found on sale, but is planned for release.
Industrial laminate today is more in the area of development
This type will be able to withstand high loads, which will allow it to be used not only in rooms with large traffic of people, but also in industrial buildings, where the mechanical load is much higher than the mass that a person can exert on the floor.
Industrial laminate class 34 will be able to withstand high loads, which will allow it to be used not only in rooms with large traffic of people, but also in industrial buildings
Household use
For household use, the material must be selected for residential premises. It is suitable, depending on certain properties, both for halls and bedrooms, and for rooms where there is high humidity.
For household use, the material must be selected for residential premises
Commercial use
The use of a commercial laminate is chosen where it is necessary to create an attractive surface, but at the same time, capable of not changing its properties under sufficiently intensive use. That is, if a large number of people are in the room all the time, wearing shoes with soles of varying roughness, then the floor, in this case, will not change its qualities and withstand such exposure.
Choosing a dark laminate
If red doors are installed in the interior of the living room, then people often prefer to use this color when creating the flooring. In this case, a harmonious room is obtained. But often a dark laminate is chosen for the floor, and this color palette allows you to get a luxurious design. Usually, a material that imitates dark wood is purchased. This coating goes well with other colors, and you can also create unique accents using bright colors.
The most popular dark shade is the color of oak or tobacco. These tones fit perfectly into the classic design style, but they can also be used for other design trends. The following solutions go well with this coating:
- use of wallpaper in pastel colors;
- formation of a white ceiling structure;
- installation of light wood furniture with leather upholstery;
- purchasing textiles with floral, floral or geometric patterns.
If you create the optimal composition of finishing materials and colors, then the dark floor will not be noticeable. This coating will look luxurious, elegant and stylish. It is permissible to use this solution for ethnic design trends, minimalism or even classics. This option is suitable not only for the living room, but also for the corridor or kitchen.
Attention! Furniture that has white upholstery and chromed metal parts looks ideal on a dark floor.
In addition to dark oak, you can choose the following shades:
- Wenge. This color is considered rich and interesting, but to dilute the color palette it is important to use bright accessories, textiles made from expensive fabrics, as well as original patterns. You can install African-style vases, wall panels, or lay the skin of any animal on the floor. If the room is small in size, then you need as little decor as possible. To highlight the unique color of wenge, it is not recommended to use the same tone in furniture.
- Auburn. This shade is considered original and unusual, and is also usually used in country or Provence style. This laminate produces a noble coating that goes well with wood furniture.
- Black. This option is only suitable for large rooms, and the coating fits well into high-tech, loft or modern style. The material is usually complemented by orange-colored walls and a leather sofa.
Dark flooring is used extremely carefully, because if the color proportions are violated, the room will seem too small, uncomfortable and gloomy.
Which laminate is better, with or without chamfer?
It is known that a chamfer is the end plane of a blade, cut at a certain angle. It can be present only on the long side of the board or extend along the entire perimeter. There are two ways to make a chamfer: rolling (pushing the slab, which preserves the protective layer on the surface) and cutting off the edge. With the latter method, additional processing is needed to maintain moisture resistance and color of the canvas.
Which laminate is better to choose for an apartment? The chamfered material is more expensive, but has the following advantages:
- the dark-colored floor, laid out like oak, looks “expensive” and natural, as if made from natural expensive boards;
- the chamfer partially takes on mechanical loads and prevents deformation of the slab;
- increasing the tightness of joining seams, increasing moisture resistance;
- the ability not to level the floor if the height changes less than 4 mm for every 2 meters;
- a covering with a chamfer across the room can make the room wider, and one laid lengthwise can make the room longer.
How to choose the color of doors to match light laminate
Universal door colors for light flooring are acacia, light oak, honey birch, light alder and ash. The contrasting combination looks very original, which is represented by a radical difference in colors in the form of a light laminated board and a dark door and vice versa.
However, designers recommend giving preference to options in which the laminated floor surface is one tone lighter than the door. It will be interesting to look at a door and floor that have not only the same color, but also a similar pattern or texture.
If desired, you can use the maximum color and texture match of the floor and door in the design.
History of creation
The ancestor of laminated parquet as we know it today was developed in 1977 by the Swedish company Pergo, then part of the Perstorp group. The design of the first laminate differed from the modern one: the decorative layer was impregnated with melamine resin, the lower part of the board was made of a laminate based on phenolic resin. Under high pressure and temperature, both layers were integrated onto the substrate using a thermosetting adhesive.
At the same time, other experiments were carried out on the production of laminates; a material based on a thin laminate produced under high pressure enjoyed particular success. But all these production methods were considered unviable: they required too high production costs and, as a result, could not become widespread.
10 years have passed, and a fundamentally new laminate production technology has been developed. Two fiberboards were sanded, and an adhesive film of phenolic resin was placed between the sanded sides. Next, decorative paper impregnated with melamine resin was first applied on top, then a top layer of film containing mineral particles, including the natural mineral Corundum. The underside was covered with kraft paper impregnated with phenolic. As a result of compression under the influence of high pressure and temperature, a laminated board was formed.
Moisture resistance
Exposure to water is one of the weakest points of laminate. If it gets between the boards, the material swells and the decorative surface peels off. The service life of such a floor is significantly reduced. Taking these shortcomings into account, manufacturers produce special types of laminate with moisture resistance.
The photo shows an example of a moisture-resistant coating, which is protected by a top laminated layer. Despite its resistance to water, the floor cannot be kept wet for a long time.
Moisture-resistant laminate can withstand exposure to moisture only for a certain period of time. The material is based on a durable wood fiber board treated with special compounds. It is not afraid of wet cleaning, dirt and mold, but if a large amount of water penetrates the joint, the floor will swell and unevenness will appear. This coating is appropriate in the kitchen and hallway, but for the loggia and bathroom you will have to choose a different material.
Waterproof laminate is resistant to prolonged exposure to moisture, since treating the joints with warm paraffin reliably protects the floor covering from deformation. Temperature changes are also not scary for him. This is an excellent option for balconies and bathrooms that are characterized by high humidity.

Palette of colors and names of laminate flooring
Adhere to the universal principle: the interior should not have more than 3 primary colors. If there are many shades, then it is much more difficult to achieve attractive decor and harmony. The room will turn into a tacky, eye-straining blur. So don't go overboard when choosing dominant colors. In general, in modern interiors it is common to make floors, walls and ceilings neutral, and create accents and color spots with the help of accessories: bedspreads, curtains, pillows and rugs.
Laminate does not have to imitate natural wood exactly. Somewhat unnatural colors are popular, for example, light gray, red, lilac. There are lamellas made to look like stone, like tiles, etc. Here the color palette can be anything, as much as your imagination allows.
Large companies producing building materials make it easier for customers by producing samples of finished products. You can look through the catalog, equipped with small pieces of lamellas or their high-quality photographs, and compare them with each other. And in some cases, even receive a free catalog in your hands and bring it home, so that the comparison is even more reliable.
Neutral colors
Fashionable shades of laminate flooring today. These include ash, pearl, milk and similar. Of specific types of wood, an example is bleached oak. These colors themselves are not very eye-catching; they only set off pieces of furniture and decor, serving as an inconspicuous but stylish background. It’s no longer strictly white, but still dim.
Yellow shades
Light warm colors bring lightness to the interior, giving people a feeling of joy and comfort. This option will be optimal if the room faces north, is too dark, or the windows are small and there is not enough light. The natural colors of wood, except for some, are warm. Beige, brown, reddish tones of the floor are comfortable and familiar. A good choice if your apartment is decorated in traditional, natural styles.
Cool colors
Cool shades are good for a room located on the south side, which is too sunny and bright. A good choice is the bedroom. Too bright, acidic colors excite the brain, preventing you from resting and concentrating on getting ready for bed. You should choose a neutral tone that is pleasing to the eye.
White shades
Gone are the days when light-colored furniture was necessarily associated with a hospital. Now, white flooring is a great choice when planning the decoration of a room, especially if it does not receive enough light. The space visually expands, the apartment looks spacious and elegant. It is recommended that visual emphasis be placed on several bright accessories or pieces of furniture so that the room does not look too strict, evoking associations with a snow-covered field.
We do not recommend laying white laminate flooring in the hall, kitchen, or nursery. The slightest stain will be noticeable on it, and the floor will constantly have to be cleaned - the pleasure is below average.
Dark shades
Be wary of colors that are too dark, such as fashionable wenge (imitation of the texture of almost black wood). If you overdo it, the interior will produce a gloomy, oppressive impression. A good choice is to lay dark laminate flooring in the hallway, hall, or in any room where there is a high risk of rapid contamination and rubbing of the floor covering.
An interesting solution: laying a completely black laminate in a room decorated in an ultra-modern style: techno, hi-tech, etc. Alternatively, gothic. Beware of dark laminate flooring if the ceilings in your apartment are low, otherwise they will visually “drop” even more noticeably. Give preference to light colors.
