Certain varieties of lambrequins evoke indescribable delight and admiration just by looking at them. And if you evaluate the functional component of this decorative element, you will never cease to be amazed at its uniqueness.
Classic bandeau
This is a type of horizontal strict lambrequins. The distinguishing characteristic of a classic bandeau is the severity and symmetry of its forms. In such lambrequins, the lower edge is treated with braid or decorative fringe. If there is an image on the bandeau, then it is placed from the center to the edges in order to maintain the strict symmetry of this type of lambrequin.

This is a more complex textured version of the lambrequin. It is made on a lining with the addition of trim from braid, fringe, lace, with various drapes, etc. Often, an openwork bandeau contains decoration with embroidery with an ornate motif, inserts of thin lightweight fabric of a lighter or darker shade, additional metal parts or beads. Similar compositions are used in decorating living rooms and large halls to give the room solemnity and pomp.
Vertical gang
This type of lambrequins is used in interiors quite rarely. The main function of a vertical bandeau is that it replaces a side curtain. In addition to this composition there is regular tulle or light organza, sometimes with the addition of curtains on the opposite side if it is necessary to darken the room.

Selecting the final design
After we have “glued” the base of the bandeau, we need to start processing its edges. To do this, you can use any of the following methods:
- bias binding (this is a woven material used for processing the edges and edges of products, sold in finished form in specialized stores by the meter, easily and easily attached to the edge with a sewing machine);
- decorative braid (purchased ready-made, attached to the outside of the edge using a glue gun, sewing machine or manually);
- hemming (made from the allowances of some decorative fabric, while to give strength it is fixed with a special adhesive material using an iron, and then fastened with a seam between the layers of the bandeau);
- lining (also made using allowances of the selected decorative fabric and the back part of the lining material, which must first be sewn together, then turned inside out, ironed so that the back fabric is not visible, and put on the base of the lambrequin).

When the curtain band is ready, place it on the cornice. To do this, it is most convenient to use adhesive tapes (two-component), with one part attached to the cornice, and the second sewn to the lambrequin itself. The advantage of this mount is that you can attach different lambrequins that fit in size to one mount on the cornice.

Do-it-yourself bando for housing
How to make a bandeau for curtains? Everything is very simple, the main thing is to follow the recommendations of experts. To begin with, it’s worth making a pattern taking into account all the sizes of the future lambrequin. Afterwards, corrections are made to the length and width, and only after that the measurements are transferred to the canvas. The fabric is taken with a reserve, taking into account the fact that you will have to wrap the edges.
It is best to use non-bulk material for simplicity when working on creating decorations. When hemming the edges, you need to use a lining. The base can be made in any shape - it can be symmetries, holes, sharp corners.
A lambrequin in the form of a drop of water that will fall from the very top of the cornice or blooming flowers looks beautiful. A bando will help the room acquire a modern atmosphere, and the interior, in turn, will look unusual.
