First, you need to decide on a pattern; for the first time, you should choose simple ones or patterns to get your hands on. They work with clay like dough, that is, they roll it out to a few millimeters. Transfer this layer to the template and cut out with a penknife or any other shapes and details. After all the parts are cut out, you need to let them dry. The drying method depends on the clay you use. Some should be air dried, while others can be dried in the oven. The parts themselves and the entire plot can be joined together with ordinary PVA glue. If you want even more accurate work, you can cover the fastening points with modeling paste, which will harden on its own, but do not forget to sand the work areas with paste afterwards. Coarse-grain sandpaper is suitable for this, but you can go over the entire structure with fine-grain sandpaper to make your candlestick smoother in appearance.
