Well, the bathroom renovation is complete and, it would seem, you can enjoy the fruits of your own labor. But for some reason we don’t have the feeling of comfort that we so strived for. Oh, yes, of course, we miss all sorts of little things that should always be at hand. Bathroom accessories needed.
It is thanks to small fixtures and design elements that that very atmosphere of comfort is created, when everything is in its place, and there seems to be nothing superfluous. It is these small details that can breathe life into such a functional room and make it a real center of power in your home: with their help, you can recharge your morning energy every day and shake off evening fatigue.

Antique vases and jars made of cut glass, decorated with openwork cupronickel weaving or a painted faience soap dish will create a unique atmosphere of connection between times and exquisite luxury.
If such a task is not set, it is much more convenient to buy ready-made sets of bathroom accessories , equipped with everything necessary and designed in the same style.

Ceramic accessories
It is considered the most expensive option, but it also looks impressive, especially if the objects are decorated with molded volumetric elements. Beautiful and noble material. Collections of accessories from it will decorate a bathroom in a loft, ethnic or minimalist style. Especially popular are products made from bamboo, which are highly durable, moisture resistant and light weight.
Tip: if water gets on wooden objects, they should be wiped with a dry cloth as soon as possible. The impregnation or protective layer that protects accessories from rotting should be periodically restored. It is recommended to do this once every 3 to 4 years.
Metal accessories
Stainless steel sets are suitable for modern style bathrooms . They are resistant to mechanical stress and will not break if dropped, but they can become deformed from a strong impact.
The sets are usually made of special decorative stainless steel, which is resistant to scratches, fingerprints and water marks. The surface of the products can be matte, polished or embossed (see photo below).
Attention : unscrupulous manufacturers may replace more expensive decorative stainless steel with ordinary steel with a thin layer of chrome plating. Such material quickly becomes unusable and begins to rust at the slightest damage. The cheapness of stainless steel accessories is the key to a short service life and untidy appearance.

Accessories made of pastic
Plastic kits are the most budget-friendly, but they don’t always look cheap. Bright colors, a variety of shapes and textures set their own “mood” for the interior, while elevating it for us.
If a soap dish or plastic cup accidentally falls into the sink or onto a tiled floor, it will not damage the coating or break on its own.
Such accessories do not require special care; just wipe them with a damp sponge to restore their original appearance.
High-quality plastic can compete with ceramics or glass in appearance. But such bathroom accessories cannot be too cheap and this must be taken into account.
Particularly impressive are sets made of acrylic – a new generation of plastic. Transparent double-walled sets are filled with gel, into which compositions of flowers, seashells, corals, and so on are immersed.
Wall accessories
Hanging shelves, towel holders, dispensers, soap dishes and toothbrush holders are especially convenient if the sink does not have its own countertop. This could be a model with a cabinet or a “tulip”, where the lip around the bowl is so narrow that it does not allow for a large number of accessories to be placed.
Wall mounting helps save useful space in a small bathroom and makes it possible to create elegant installations in a spacious one. If you don’t want to drill additional holes, it’s better to choose several accessories mounted on a single bracket.
Holders for personal hygiene products should be placed at a distance of 5–10 cm from the mirror and at a height of 95–110 cm from the floor. There should be at least 30 cm between the sink and the shelf above it. This will allow you to wash yourself comfortably.
Tip : It is not advisable to display all available cosmetics, personal care products and household chemicals on open hanging shelves. Only the essentials, the things we use every day, should be visible. For the rest, there are closed storage sections, otherwise the bathroom will feel chaotic.
Hooks for bathrobes are attached in the immediate vicinity of the bathtub or shower stall, at a height of 160 cm (per adult). Towel holders can be placed nearby, but lower.

Towel holders
These bathroom accessories are made in two versions:
- floor
- wall-mounted
The first type is suitable for spacious rooms. The free-standing device can be carried as needed, which is very convenient.
Wall models are divided into:
- Hooks are the simplest but most popular option for holders. Although towels do not dry very well with this storage method, they take up little space, which is convenient in small bathrooms.
- Rings and bars are not only practical, but also stylish bathroom accessories . They can have a wide variety of designs - from classic to industrial. There can be several bars, which speeds up the drying of towels if the family is large and everyone bathed at the same time.
- The shelves are comfortable and roomy. However, the towels on them must be stored already dry so as not to rot. The optimal two-in-one models are a shelf plus a crossbar, where the textiles first get rid of excess moisture in the straightened state and only then are folded.
- The swivel holders are compact, and when opened they allow you to effectively dry several towels at once.
Paper holders
Storing toilet paper can also be aesthetically pleasing. Special paper holders will not only “ennoble” this personal hygiene product, but will also help save it by unwinding the roll in doses.
Practical, stylish, comfortable. Toilet paper holders are truly a necessary attribute of the bathroom. They are placed next to the toilet, and some models are attached directly to the cistern.
There are different types of paper holders:

They come in closed and open shapes.
Floor-standing models are especially convenient in spacious bathrooms, where there can be a long distance from the toilet to the wall. The height of the paper holder should be 60–70 cm. It is not advisable to remove it from the plumbing fixture by more than 30 cm.

Bath shelf
This item belongs to the category of luxury accessories . Thanks to it, lovers of long baths can read their favorite book or use a laptop without leaving the bath.
And children have somewhere to put their toys during water procedures.

Squeezers for toothpastes
Some people don't care where the dental tube is compressed. Others are very sensitive about this. Or maybe you like to put the paste on the edge of the sink to make it easier to squeeze out the rest? Someone cuts the tube in order to collect with a brush everything that remains. If you recognize yourself or your household members in these actions, you cannot do without a special squeezer. This is a device in the form of a plastic device. He twists the tube, presses it hard and squeezes out the paste. Rest assured, the paste is squeezed out to the last drop.

The most affordable option for protecting the environment from splashes flying during swimming are plastic curtains. They are appropriate in modern, loft or minimalist interiors.

For interiors in Provence, Art Decor, Baroque or Empire style, it is better to use textile curtains. They are made either from cotton impregnated with water-repellent compounds or from polyester.
There are also fabrics that contain both of these materials in different percentages. It is best to opt for this kind of textile, since it washes well, dries quickly, does not wrinkle and does not lose color in conditions of high humidity.
Foot mat
How nice it is to get out of the shower and put your feet on a cozy, warm rug. Designers offer a variety of options - from seal to pebbles.

Bath and floor mats

Long pile microfiber textiles are very popular. They are beautiful, durable, equipped with an anti-slip lining and cause a pleasant tactile sensation.
The only disadvantage of the material is that it deforms on heated floors.
Acrylic rugs are ideal for bathrooms of any style. They can have a wide variety of colors, unusual textures, patterns and other decorative elements.
Important: Colored rugs for the bathroom should be chosen with care. Accessories that are too light, and even more so , will quickly get dirty in the area of the bathtub and toilet and, over time, will acquire an unpleasant, grayish tint.
If you want something exotic, you should choose rugs made of bamboo or sea pebbles. A product made of small round stones will not only remind you of a long-awaited vacation, but will also effectively massage your feet when walking on it.
Anti-slip bath and shower mats will reliably protect us from falling or sudden immersion under water while bathing. They are absolutely necessary if there are elderly people or children in the family.
Attention : silicone mats with suction cups are attached only to a dry, grease-free surface of the bathtub or shower stall. Otherwise, they may peel off and slide off when wet.
Towel hooks
Of course, you can store towels in neat rolls, but this is more like a fairy tale for an interior photo shoot. The wet towel needs to be hung somewhere (on a heated towel rail, as an option, or on the stairs).
