DIY leather jewelry, original idea step by step
A brooch made of genuine leather can become not only your favorite accessory, but also an excellent gift. Every fashionista will be happy with such an unusual decoration. To make it, you will need two days of work, and a small list of materials: natural soft leather, about half a centimeter thick, stamens in the color of the skin, PVA and a pin, three to four centimeters wide.
You need to cut out petals and corollas from the leather according to the diagram. Pattern in kind. size.
Next, the most labor-intensive process is the treatment of leather elements with glue. Dilute PVA with water in a ratio of 1:2. Lubricate the petals from the inside out with the solution, fold them in half and twist them into a flagellum, leaving them to soak for fifteen to twenty minutes.
After the required time has passed, unroll the leaves and give each one an “accordion” shape with your fingers. Allow the pieces to dry completely. Then you will need a thick cardboard circle, approximately four centimeters in diameter. A children's toy for games is well suited.
Glue the first row of petals. Then, in the same way, the second row in checkerboard order. We glue the third row according to the same pattern, moving the petals to the center. They should be slightly raised.
The corollas are also treated with glue, rolled into a bud and dried. Then, as they decrease, we glue them into each other.
Then we take the stamens, form a bundle from them and tighten it with thin wire. We drop glue into the middle of the flower and fix the stamens there. Next, we drip glue into the center again and glue the bud itself.
Now you need to decorate the wrong side of the brooch and attach a pin. We cut out a circle from leather one centimeter larger in diameter than the cardboard for the flower, i.e. five centimeters. Make marks in the resulting circle where the pin will be located. Punch holes there and insert the fastener.
Apply PVA to the leather circle from the inside, distribute it well and glue it to the cardboard one. We leave the decoration to dry for a day, after which we are happy to use it.
