Concrete class by compressive strength
The strength class of a mixture is the degree of strength of a concrete sample made in the form of a cube. This parameter is calculated in MPa and shows the pressure withstood by at least 95 identical samples out of 100. The class of concrete is marked with the letter “B” and a numerical indicator. There are mixture strength classes from B0.5 to B60.
Application of different classes of concrete:
- B0.5 - B2.5.
Such mixtures are used when performing preparatory work and creating structures used without load. - B3.5 - B5.
These mixtures are consumed during preparatory operations before pouring foundations and manufacturing monolithic slabs. They are also used as a concrete pad in road construction and as a basis for laying curb stones. - B7.5.
Concrete of this brand is used for road construction, for foundations, for blind areas and concrete paths. Can be used for floor screed. - B10 - B12.5.

How to buy B20 concrete of proper quality?
Self-production of concrete containing gravel or crushed stone filler is not always convenient. Special equipment, necessary raw materials, and technology control will be required.
It is much easier to order ready-made material, which is delivered in special vehicles equipped with containers moving around their axis. Such a machine will deliver concrete without reducing its homogeneity; there will be no shrinkage of solid and heavy fractions to the bottom.

Can concrete harden in winter without heating?
The most effective way of heating concrete is heating using various devices: electrical wires, electrodes, heat guns, thermomats, etc. However, it is possible to introduce special additives into the mixture that can reduce the temperature of the water, which will affect the hardening of the material. Even at negative temperatures, the composition is able to gain strength in this case. At the same time, the additives do not have an aggressive effect on metal elements. However, most builders use the more effective methods listed above.
