Felt pads or legs for a pallet bed base

- Composite bed made from pallets. It is a high box on a 2-3 “story” podium, made up of multi-level platforms that vary in size. The steps of the structure serve as shelves, book stands, and coffee tables.
- Hanging bed for a summer house. In a country metal gazebo, a bed made of pallets can be hung on chains or strong cables. However, this option is not suitable for an apartment, so as not to wake up on the floor one night.
It is easy to equip a bed on a podium with shelves for books, glasses, mobile phones - to do this, before assembly, fill the gaps in the lattice surface of the pallets with wooden blocks, making it solid. In the cavities between the pallets you can build drawers for linen and things that are not constantly used, but should always be at hand: slippers for guests, brushes and rags, vacuum cleaner attachments, etc.

How to equip the backlight?
A bed made of pallets with lighting looks very stylish. To lay a luminous LED cord (duralight) inside the frame, you do not have to cut out additional grooves; for this you only need the cord itself and fasteners. Duralight of various colors is sold in electrical goods stores by the meter; for lighting in the bedroom it is better to use calm and warm shades, for example green, yellow, orange. For one bed, purchase:
- two pieces of duralight (minimum length 185 cm); power cord and controller for each segment;
- extension cord with sockets;
- screws, fastenings.
Connect each cord with plugs and check that the contacts fit tightly into the channels; put protective caps on the free ends. Connect the duralight to the network and check its operation. If everything is in order, turn off the power supply and lay it inside the frame on both sides, securing it with special fasteners every 25 cm.
Advice! If desired, you can lay two or three cords in parallel and change the lighting to suit your mood, and the lighting controller will turn it into a flashing Christmas tree garland.

For a bed that has a frame made of one row of pallets, you can make a box into which the mattress will be inserted. Depending on its size, you will need two or four wooden platforms.
To make a box from two pallets, you need to turn the pallets over, and then use a jigsaw to cut down the boards that are located in the middle of each wooden platform so that the supports take the shape of the letter “U”.
These boards need to be secured in such a way that each pallet has three closed sides. After this, you need to connect the pallets together with the open sides inward. The resulting box must be secured to a podium made of pallets, and then the mattress must be inserted into it.
If the box is created from four pallets, then each wooden platform should have only two closed sides.
