Children are always attracted to bright colors, so when decorating a bathroom, you don’t have to stop at just a few shades. You can make the interior in different colors, but it is important that they match each other.

To further interest your child, play with his hobbies. For example, if he loves a cartoon, put stickers with his favorite characters on the walls.

Safety
It is very important to organize safe conditions in the apartment where the child lives. This applies not only to his room, but also to the bathroom, which the baby can often enter without adults. Therefore, try to think through all the details when decorating this room. Remove all electrical appliances, sharp objects, and chemical cleaning products from your child's bathroom. It is better to put children's hygiene items in a closet or on a shelf where the child cannot get to without your help.

Place lamps and switches so that a child cannot reach them. You can install special lamps that react to movement - then you won’t need a switch at all, and you will have peace of mind for your baby.

Cover sharp and protruding corners with soft pads. For the door, buy a special foam stopper that will prevent your child from closing the door and accidentally pinching his fingers. If the door has a lock, make sure it can be opened from the outside.

Drawings on the walls in the bathroom, ways to solve the problem
When deciding on such a bold decision to transform your bathroom, you can go in two different ways.
The easy way
A simple, but often expensive way is to turn to professional artists, decorators, and designers. They will be able to advise what color, pattern to choose, as well as how to place it on the walls of the bathroom or bathroom.
A small but harmoniously inscribed pattern on the wall, repeating the pattern on the bathtub
Recommendations from professionals on color combinations, lighting, and overall room form factors can be very helpful, especially if you are not savvy in these things.
The cost of such work is very difficult to estimate; it can be very expensive, depending on the level of the professional performing it.
The hard way
A more difficult, but very interesting way is to develop or prepare stencils yourself, select materials and bring ideas to life with the help of your own hands and neighbors in your living space. By choosing this path, you will have to show not only design abilities, but also construction abilities.
Flowers and birds, homemade simple drawing, made by hand
You will need to purchase building materials and carry out all the manipulations with the dyes yourself. However, in this case, you can safely say that all the drawings on the wall in your bathroom were made by you yourself, without third-party assistants.
Children's bathroom floor
The bathroom floor is often slippery from water that has fallen on it. Even adults can slip and get injured when standing on tiles with wet feet. And for ever-mobile kids, a slippery floor is even more dangerous. Therefore, if you have the opportunity, make the floor from non-slip materials. If this is not possible, lay rugs on the tiles and even in the bathtub.

classic style children's bathroom projects
What might a children’s “cleanliness corner” look like if parents admire the classics and the house (apartment) already has all the signs of noble European traditions?
We have selected 2 projects in which, in our opinion, this combination of children's interior and classic style looks very harmonious.
7. Children's bathroom from Lyudmila Petrova.
The basis is taken from pictures from children's books, embodied in the famous designer tiles from the Bardelli factory. There is a garden, a zoo, and even a charming miniature dog above the bathtub.
The main color in this bathroom is white with splashes of blue. Diagonal tiles on the floor visually expand the room, and dark blue niches in the wall deepen it. The ceiling moldings are also blue. The repetition of blue below and above creates the illusion of an infinitely tall room.
But this bathroom is still a children’s bathroom, so the dark blue is diluted with yellow and red. The bathroom is also decorated with tiles, but how interesting: blue, the color of the floor, turns into red. Contrasting, and at the same time does not hit the eyes.
8. Children's bathroom from Natalia Frolova.
This bathroom, although for a child, is also decorated in a classic style. At the same time, there is everything here that a girl of any age might like.
The main theme is flowers. They accompany the little mistress everywhere. Flowers also play an accent role, highlighting the bathtub and toilet with luxurious tile panels.
The lower part of the tile also matches the charming flowers: soft green interspersed with crimson. Both the floor and the furniture are in crimson tones. Such an interior accustoms one to excellent taste from childhood.
Ceiling and walls
Children's games in the bath often involve a lot of splashes, so it is better to choose waterproof materials for the ceiling and walls. The ceiling can be made of plastic lining - a budget waterproof material. The advantage of lining is not only in price, but also in the variety of colors. This is a great option for a bright children's bathroom.
The walls can be tiled with ceramic tiles with an anti-slip coating - a common material for the bathroom.

How to adapt plumbing to a child's needs?
It is recommended to design bathrooms so that every family member feels free, including our children. When planning to renovate a bathroom, it is recommended to think about how to make the bathroom more comfortable and safe for a child.
Bathroom furniture
It should be child-friendly and located at a height so that your children can easily reach the cabinets and fixtures they need, and get the towels, care products and accessories they need. On the contrary, any household chemicals, detergents and other dangerous drugs should be hidden from children as far as possible and, if possible, locked in a separate cabinet.
Of course, you shouldn't go to extremes. Furniture placed too low to the floor is also not a good solution, especially if the bathroom is used not only by children, but also by adults. We must not forget that our children grow quickly and will soon begin to be bothered by low shelves. The optimal solution in this case is to buy a plastic chair or platform that will allow children to get the necessary things from high shelves. Thanks to this solution, you will be able to install furniture at a normal height, without reducing the comfort for children in using the bathroom.
When choosing a stool for children in the bathroom, you should make sure that it has a non-slip surface and does not have sharp edges. If you have not yet decided what furniture to buy for your bathroom, it is recommended to choose cabinets and countertops with rounded edges.
Another solution for greater safety for children is to buy special suction cup covers that can be installed on sharp edges of furniture.
Toilet seat
First, children go to diapers, then to potty training, and then they are toilet trained. It is important at this moment to teach your child to use the toilet correctly.
Obviously, standard toilets with normal height and width are not very convenient for small butts. Therefore, it is recommended to buy a special toilet cover that will be more ergonomic and comfortable for your child.
Bath
Children love to bathe in bathtubs, especially if their favorite toys are floating next to them, and the bathtub itself is filled with water and foam. This is all great and great, but you shouldn't forget that the most common cause of children's injuries in bathrooms is slipping in the bathroom.
While playing in the bathtub, babies often kick, change positions, stand up, sit down and lie down. Obviously, the bath is not the best place for outdoor games. What to do? Ban your child from playing in it completely?
Not at all. In order to protect children from slipping in the bathtub, it is better to purchase a non-slip mat that can be easily attached to the bottom of the bathtub using special suction cups. Thanks to the special material with a relief texture, it is almost impossible to slip on it. Therefore, the child can stand, sit and turn around in the bath at will, and you do not have to worry about your child getting injured.
Protective bath mats, in addition to their main protective function, can also be fun for your child. These products are sold in a variety of shapes and colors. Some resemble animals, others resemble fairy-tale characters. You can also buy mats with numbers or letters - this will help your child quickly master basic knowledge of mathematics and the alphabet.
Tap (mixer) shape
Unfortunately, few parents think about the shape of the faucet when buying one for their home. As a rule, if they think about it, they choose to have a beautiful design, and that’s all. Meanwhile, sharp and protruding faucet taps are also a very common cause of children’s injuries in bathrooms.
While bathing in the bath and playing their own games, children often forget that they are near the tap and may accidentally hit their head on it, which can be extremely painful. But how to solve this problem?
Firstly, it is recommended to buy faucets with a short tap head (but long enough for ease of use to wash your hands, pour water, etc.). Secondly, pay attention to the design of the faucet (it is advisable that it has no sharp edges).
If you have already bought a faucet for the bathroom, you can solve the problem by installing a special rubber faucet cover, which is sold in many supermarkets and hardware stores. This cap should be put on the faucet every time you fill the bath for your child's bath.
Handles on the walls
In order to reduce the risk of a child slipping in the bathroom, it is recommended to install a special handle on the wall, or preferably several (for example, one for entering and exiting the bathroom, the other for ease of washing while standing, under the shower). The material of the handle can be anything - it can be plastic or metal, the most important thing is that they should be covered with a rough material and be comfortable to hold on to.
Shower cabin
It should also have, of course, a non-slip coating. If you don't have one, it is recommended to buy an anti-slip shower mat. Thanks to it, you don't have to worry about your child accidentally slipping in the shower.
If your shower stall has a large baby pool, make sure the entry and exit are at an accessible height for your child. To do this, special anti-slip handles must be installed, and a plastic chair or platform must be installed near the shower that will allow him to step over the wall of the shower tray.
If this is a new bathroom in the house, or you are planning to do a major renovation in the old one, it is recommended to pay attention to shower cabins without a tray or with trays that are installed in the plane of the floor. This way you will save your child from stepping over slippery thresholds.
Whatever decision you ultimately make, in any case, to ensure the safety of your child in the bathroom, it is recommended to purchase anti-slip mats.
Sink (washbasin)
The main factor that affects the safety of a child when using the sink is choosing the right faucet for the sink. In this regard, the problem can be solved by installing the above-mentioned thermostatic mixers, which reduce the risk of scalding a child with hot water.
The second common problem is the awkward shape of the sink. Keep in mind that how convenient the sink is for your children directly determines how often they will wash their hands and brush their teeth on time. Therefore, if you want your child to regularly monitor hygiene, just ask him if he is comfortable using your sink.
Of course, there is no point in immediately changing the sink to a lower height one. The problem of the height of the washbasin for children can be solved by purchasing a stool for the bathroom. It is also recommended to purchase appropriate accessories: a beautiful soap dish, toothbrush or toothpaste with the theme of your little one’s favorite cartoon character will certainly encourage him to use the sink more often.
Floor covering
Most often, bathroom floors are made of ceramic tiles or porcelain stoneware. These are very practical materials that have many advantages, but they can also pose a danger to our children.
What are we talking about? Firstly, tile is a very slippery material, especially when water comes into contact with it. Therefore, if you have not yet started renovating your bathroom, it is recommended to choose tiles with a rough surface. If the tiles have already been laid, it is recommended to lay several non-slip mats in the bathroom.
Secondly, tile is a cold material, and children often walk barefoot, and such walking on a cold floor can obviously have an adverse effect on their health. Therefore, we strongly recommend that you consider either underfloor heating in the bathroom, or (if the renovation has already been done), consider installing additional radiators.
Bathroom "to grow"
Make sure that your baby can reach the objects he needs. For example, place a special non-slip stool so that he can reach the sink. Hang towels on hooks with suction cups at the child’s eye level - this will make it easier for him to dry his hands. The advantage of such hooks is that they can be hung higher over time.
Bright accessories
The children's bathroom should have many accessories that will attract the child's attention and occupy it. The more interesting decor you add, the better.

Hang bright towels, a colorful curtain on the bathroom, lay down colorful rugs, and put colored glasses on the sink. Accessories for a children's bathroom are very diverse, so show your imagination when decorating this room.

Turn the process of brushing your teeth into a game by adding important hygiene accessories in the form of toys to your interior. For example, it is much more interesting to dry yourself with a shark towel than with an ordinary white one.

interior of a small children's bathroom with shower
And if it is impossible to position a bathtub, or it is not so important for a child, pay attention to the shower stall. Or, in European style, for the shower compartment.
11. Project of a small children's bathroom from Marta Vykhovanets.
Can't think of anything less! However, even here the designer found a way out. The white walls, traditional for such a room, are decorated three times: with a rainbow stripe in the middle, orange at the bottom and green at the top.
The colors of the stripes are repeated on the floor and in the decorative niche that replaces the cabinet. In general, the bathroom looks compact thanks to the correct selection of colors, fixtures and furniture.
12. Project of a small children's bathroom from Olga Zelinskaya.
Narrow and long, this unusually shaped bathroom still achieves a complete style. You have already seen another project of the same designer above. And here she suggested making the most of the reserves of this non-standard space. There was room in the niches for both a shower and a washing machine.
The main colors of this bathroom are blue and green. The shower area and the space around the sink are decorated in green. The tiled panel is crowned with a neat border of two colors of tiles. The wall above the toilet is dark blue, which creates a wonderful contrast. And the free wall is white, with neat splashes of floral patterns.
Decorative elements
You can decorate the bathroom together with your child, turning this process into a fun game. For example, buy special bathroom stickers and stick them on ceramic bathroom surfaces and tiles.

Vinyl stickers are available for purchase. They are inexpensive and easily fit into the bathroom design. In addition, they can be re-glued several times.

Does the children's bathroom stand out from the interior of the apartment?
One possible way out of the situation is to “break away” in the decor of the wall on which the door is located, so that the bright decor is visible only to those who are already inside, and the other three walls will serve as its background.
In addition, do not forget about stickers, pictures on suction cups, magnets, markers for drawing on tiles - that is, everything that will allow your child to become a creator of the interior with you and change it in accordance with their mood and tastes. In any case, do not neglect the huge selection of children's stools, anti-slip mats, thermometers, hooks and hangers and other clever devices. Read more

Accessories. The design of the bathroom can and should be periodically updated with the help of accessories: hang a new shower curtain, change cups for toothbrushes, laundry baskets, rugs. After all, children constantly want something new, but it’s unlikely that anyone will selflessly repaint the walls or relay the tiles every month. And for bathing to become a pleasant ritual and a fun adventure for the baby, the bathroom design should be conducive to this.
A good idea is voluminous applications on a mirror or ceramic tiles. By the way, you can make them with the whole family. For this, both available materials (multi-colored film, self-adhesive paper) and purchased kits are suitable. They include latex figures that are easily glued to a smooth surface and just as easily removed.

Accessories in bright colors are an easy way to create a childlike, cheerful mood in the bathroom.
Special “children’s” shower heads and faucets for children’s bathrooms are produced extremely rarely. But still, they exist. When a child grows up, replacing a dragon shower head with a regular one will be much easier than replacing a mini-toilet or sink with an adult version.
