This incredible historical discovery was made in Florence, Italy in 1975 by the director of the Medici chapels, Paolo Dal Pogetto.
According to National Geographic magazine, Paolo and his team were trying to find a new exit from the chapel for tourists near the new sacristy, which is a room for storing unique tombstones of the Medici family.
