There are no clear restrictions on the choice of opening dimensions, but it is recommended to follow generally accepted provisions:

The dimensions of the gate should take into account the width and height of the car, taking into account the side mirrors, and it is better to be 1 m more than this figure.
When determining the width, it should be remembered that the width of passenger cars is somewhere around 1.5-1.7 m, SUVs - 1.7-2 m. The minimum opening for entry is 2.5 m.
The dimensions of the gate are selected depending on the number of pillars and the dimensions of the frame.
If the area of the site allows, then leave a width of 4 m for the entrance; for a gate, 1-1.2 m is enough.
The doors are not placed close to the ground, otherwise in winter it will be difficult to open when frozen. An indentation of 15–30 cm from the bottom is made.

You should not install a gate that is too large, since the hinges simply will not withstand such a load. The recommended height is 2 m. If you need a higher sash, you will need to secure a crossbar between the posts - this will increase rigidity and protect it from deformation.

For the production and subsequent installation of swing gates, the following tools are required: a welding machine, a grinding machine and a wheel.

Installation process:

The first step is to assemble the metal frame. A rectangular welded structure is manufactured (standard dimensions are 3000×2000 mm). To create the frame, a profile pipe with a section of 60x30x2 mm is used. To make a metal frame, you will need a welding machine and skills to perform simple operations.
Step 2. Installing supports to secure the frame. A 100x100 mm pipe profile, concrete columns or bricks are used as supports for fastening the canvas. To create a foundation, fill the hole with the prepared mixture to a depth of 1 m. Reinforcement is performed and a profile pipe is placed in the middle of the support. After pouring, allow the mixture to dry (within 7 days) so that it is dry and hard.
Step 3. Installation of frame and sashes. First, a profile tubular section measuring 50 by 50 mm is made. Then the wings are welded to the rectangular frame. After completing work on the frame, grind the welds with a grinder and weld the hinges.
In the fourth step, the seams are prepared and welded to the frame.

Types of sliding gates

Sliding structures are in great demand, they save a lot of space and are very practical in everyday use. They are installed on private property, in public institutions, in industrial zones and other areas.

Products are mainly made of steel, sometimes aluminum (however, this option is more expensive). The least common are cast iron. It is best to order sliding products individually in order to correctly adjust them in height, width and select the appropriate type of filling for the fence used.

Gate design and styling
